| BUILDING INSPECTION, CODE ENFORCEMENT, and RECYCLING |
The Office of Building Inspection and Code Enforcement in the Borough handles the enforcement of compliance with property maintenance ordinances, plan reviews and issues building permits. This office is responsible for new construction and site plan development of both commercial and residential. In addition, this office is responsible for the Recycling Program. For more information about these services and permits required, contact the Code Office at 752-2723.

| DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS |

The Borough DPW provides a number of services to residents and businesses such as snow removal, street sweeping, maintenance of storm inlets, road patching, and general park maintenance. A unique service provided by this department is the Leaf Pickup, which begins the 2nd week of November and ends the last week of November. The DPW uses a leaf vacuum machine to dispose of the residents’ leaves, which are raked to the curb line for removal.

A Message From The Borough of Berwick Council
The Borough of Berwick Council consists of seven Councilpersons, an elected Mayor and various appointed positions. Council members serve on committees to represent the community’s interests in developing new laws, the Borough budget, and ensure public safety, which protects the health, safety and general welfare of its citizens, as well as the administration of the Police Department.
